The mission of the Yiddish farm is to “empower Jews to reclaim Yiddish as a source of Jewish culture, identity, and learning.” The farm also provides courses to Yiddish speakers and they raise animals such as sheep, geese, turkeys and chickens and grow different crops. The farm was founded in December of 2010 in Stanton Street Synagouge. The farm was chosen to participate in the PresenTense Community Entrepeneur Partnership in 2011. The farm set our on a goal to achieve 3 main factors: 1) Speak Yiddish 2) Build Community 3) Live sustainably |
