Abraham Joshua Heschel was a dominant religious figure. He was a theologian, rabbi, social activist, and a mystic. He was a large supporter of MLK and participated in the Civil Rights movement. He believed it was ineffable and unexplainable, but we know that there is a God. He often used dramatic language to reach hearts and not just mind. He was ready to die for Judaism and was a believer that the enemy is nialism. He said our duty as individuals is to represent the divine. His famous quote is “don’t forget the trees” as he had large delight in the natural world and viewed it with radial amazement.
